Server listing metadata (Cfx Portal)
Prepare FiveM or RedM server name, tags, language and images for the 21 October 2026 Portal migration.
Cfx announced on 14 October 2026 that public FiveM and RedM server-list metadata will move from local configuration files to the Cfx Portal. The majority of the changes are scheduled to take effect on 21 October 2026. This is a Cfx platform change, not a new txAdmin feature.
What changes?
| Public listing information | Where to edit after the rollout |
|---|---|
| Server name, tagline and description | Your server's record in the Cfx Portal |
| Listing language and searchable tags | Your server's record in the Cfx Portal |
| Banner and server profile image | Upload them in the Cfx Portal |
| Associated Discord invite | Add the link in the Cfx Portal |
Older recipes and server.cfg files may still contain these listing-related settings:
sv_hostname,sv_projectName,sv_projectDesctags,localebanner_detail,banner_connecting,load_server_icon
During the transition, existing configuration-file metadata can still be displayed in the server list. After the 21 October rollout, do not rely on changing these old values in server.cfg or in txAdmin's CFG Editor to update the public listing. They may remain in older recipes or server versions; back up your config and review local dependencies before removing anything.
Migration checklist
- Sign in at portal.cfx.re with the account that manages your server registration key, then select the correct server record.
- Inspect the public fields. Cfx has backfilled recently available metadata where possible; missing fields must be entered manually.
- Review the server name, tagline, description and language. Choose up to five unique searchable tags that accurately describe your community.
- Upload the listing images. Cfx recommends a 2560 × 280 px banner (minimum 1825 × 200 px) and a 512 × 512 px profile image (minimum 256 × 256 px).
- Add the community's Discord link in the Portal if applicable.
- After the rollout, inspect your actual FiveM or RedM server listing and verify what players see. Do not assume that a successful FXServer startup means the public listing is complete.
If Cfx could not backfill your data, the server list may display “Missing server data (must be configured in Portal)” until you fill in the required Portal fields. The Portal controls may not all be available before the announced rollout date.
What stays in server.cfg?
This change concerns public listing metadata. Keep game TCP/UDP endpoints, resource ensure entries, ACE permissions, private server registration keys, database connections and framework configuration in the appropriate server or hosting configuration. txAdmin's TXHOST_* variables are still set at host startup, not in the Portal.
If you used an older txAdmin recipe, you may still need its local server-name field to finish deployment. Treat that as a recipe/startup input, not proof that the public server listing has been updated.
