Edit & validate server.cfg

Use the built-in CFG editor without confusing FXServer settings with txAdmin boot variables.

txAdmin's CFG Editor edits the server's configured server.cfg. Opening and saving requires server.cfg.editor; the separate control.server permission is needed for server restart controls.

Public server-list metadata: From Cfx's announced 21 October 2026 rollout, update public server names, tags, language and imagery in the Cfx Portal, not in this editor. Older server.cfg files may still contain listing settings; see the server metadata migration guide before changing them.

Before editing

Record the current FXServer artifact version and save a working configuration. Confirm the panel points to the active server.cfg, not an old copy.

Example game endpoints

server.cfg
endpoint_add_tcp "0.0.0.0:30120"
endpoint_add_udp "0.0.0.0:30120"

Use your allocated game port. The panel port (usually TCP 40120) is separate, and TXHOST_* variables are set before FXServer starts, not inside server.cfg.

Save and verify

  1. Make one small change and inspect its syntax.
  2. Save in the panel; txAdmin's save endpoint validates configuration and reports errors.
  3. Resolve reported errors rather than repeatedly submitting the same content.
  4. Restart only if the changed setting requires it.
  5. Watch the console and verify the intended behavior from outside the server.

The upstream save path can preserve a file backup, but that is not a full backup of your resources, txData or framework database.

Change not applied? Check included config files, hosting startup settings and whether the provider enforces TXHOST_FXS_PORT.
