Discord integration

Configure the bot and publish a persistent status embed.

Configure the bot

Use the panel’s Settings → Discord Bot section. Enable the bot and provide its token, Discord server ID, and any channel settings you need. Follow the current Discord Developer Portal instructions when creating and authorizing your bot.

Keep the token secret. Do not paste it into Ask AI, screenshots, public configuration examples, or third-party JSON editors.

Add the persistent status message

In a channel where the configured bot can send messages, run:

/status add

The status embed is updated periodically by txAdmin. The upstream docs describe an update approximately every minute. Configure the embed and status JSON through the two JSON editor buttons in the Discord Bot settings.

Use placeholders

Useful placeholders include {{serverName}}, {{serverClients}}, {{serverMaxClients}}, {{serverJoinUrl}}, {{statusString}}, {{uptime}}, and {{nextScheduledRestart}}. Preserve placeholder spelling and produce valid JSON.

The embed color is controlled by the status configuration; txAdmin generates its footer.

If it does not work

Check the token, guild ID, channel permissions, and bot connectivity. Validate the JSON locally. txAdmin cannot fully validate the Discord embed against Discord’s API at save time; check System Logs for errors after trying it.

Discord role-based allowlisting needs the bot to read the relevant member and role state. Verify that flow with an actual eligible player.

Use Custom Discord status embed for complete JSON examples and placeholders, and Allowlisting for join-access behavior.
