Install ESX Legacy with txAdmin
Install an ESX Legacy roleplay server from its official txAdmin recipe, including database safety and post-install verification.
ESX Legacy has a maintainer-provided deployment recipe. Use that source for installation and keep txAdmin, FXServer and framework updates separate.
Preflight
- Start a current compatible FXServer in txAdmin mode. Follow installation if this is your first server.
- Prepare a Cfx license, a clean working directory, and a new/test MySQL or MariaDB database.
- Inspect the current ESX recipe repository for dependencies, tasks and warnings.
- Take recoverable backups of all production resources and databases if upgrading from an existing ESX installation.
Server Deployer
- Choose ESX Legacy in txAdmin's recommended recipes.
- Check the recipe URL/branch points to the maintained ESX project.
- Set server name and license; enter the database details when the deployer asks for them.
- Read SQL import and deletion options carefully. Running recipes against an existing production database can alter or destroy data.
- Let every deployer task finish. If a task fails, diagnose and cleanly re-run in a new folder rather than assuming the partial install rolled back.
- Confirm
server.cfgandresourcesexist and the ESX startup order matches the recipe.
Verify ESX
- The server console shows ESX core and its required dependencies starting successfully.
- A client can join, create or load a character, and save an inventory/character change.
- Test disconnect/reconnect persistence in the separate test database.
- Review resource and database logs after a full restart; preserve the artifact and recipe revision used.
Troubleshoot
An unresponsive txAdmin panel is a panel access issue; a failed download or SQL import is a recipe issue. When an ESX resource starts but behaves incorrectly, inspect the ESX project's requirements and dependency version matrix.
Do not assume that an ESX Legacy recipe or resource supports FiveM for GTAV Enhanced without its maintainer's confirmation. See Enhanced compatibility.
