Deploy vMenu Enhanced with txAdmin

Choose the official FiveM vMenu recipe, isolate vMenu permissions, and verify deployment without modifying production.

Reviewed 1 November 2026. Cfx announced an official txAdmin vMenu recipe on 16 September 2026. The vMenu maintainer subsequently reported that the recipe now installs vMenu Enhanced for both FiveM Legacy and GTA V Enhanced. Confirm the currently selected recipe before deployment because recipe contents can change independently of txAdmin versions.

Understand the difference

txAdmin menuvMenu Enhanced
Built into FXServer/txAdminSeparate third-party FiveM resource
Managed through txAdmin Admin ManagerUses vMenu-specific permissions and config
Administrative actions, monitoring and moderationAdditional player/vehicle menus and customization
Runs as part of txAdminRuns as part of the FiveM resource lifecycle

Neither menu replaces the other. Do not assume txAdmin's players.* permissions grant access to vMenu.* ACE permissions.

New test server deployment

  1. Back up your existing server and use a new empty target directory, not your live installation.
  2. Start the current supported FXServer artifact without +exec server.cfg to reach txAdmin's initial setup.
  3. Under Popular Recipes, select the vMenu option for the correct FiveM game type. Review its current source URL, ref and displayed steps before deploying; do not trust an old screenshot as a pinned recipe.
  4. Complete txAdmin setup and launch the test instance.
  5. Inspect server.cfg and resources/ for the deployed vMenu resource and its permission/configuration files. Confirm the exact resource name and startup command in the downloaded recipe rather than guessing.
  6. Connect with two test accounts: one permitted and one unprivileged. Check vehicle/player actions and verify that denied ACE permissions remain denied.
  7. Test restart behavior, artifact compatibility and logs before promoting the changes to production.

Troubleshooting

  • Menu does not show: first confirm the resource started successfully; then check the current vMenu keybind, config and ACE permissions.
  • Missing options: distinguish vMenu ACE permissions from txAdmin permissions.
  • Unexpected behavior after migrating: verify whether the recipe deployed vMenu Enhanced and whether older saved settings are compatible. Back up old settings before conversion.
  • Two admin menus appear: this is not necessarily an installation failure; both resources may be present.

For general recipe failures, use Recipe troubleshooting or the Recipe Validator.
