Troubleshooting

Discord allowlist not working

Resolve Discord member or role allowlisting failures with focused identity and bot checks.

The discordMember and discordRoles txAdmin modes require the selected Discord account to satisfy the configured membership or role requirements.

Diagnose in order

  1. Confirm the active allowlist mode in txAdmin. Approved-license mode is a different workflow.
  2. Check the Discord guild ID configured in the bot settings.
  3. If using discordRoles, verify the user actually has one of the allowed roles.
  4. Check the Discord identity detected for that connecting game client.
  5. Confirm the bot has the required access and member/role data in your deployment.
  6. Test with an eligible and an ineligible player and save the exact rejection messages.

Common misunderstandings

SymptomLikely next check
"I joined Discord but cannot join"Check whether a permitted role is also required
Everyone is rejectedCheck mode, bot connectivity, guild ID and role settings
One person is rejectedCheck that person's role and Discord identifier
Rejection includes a request IDCheck whether the server actually uses approved-license mode

Do not permanently disable the allowlist to mask a broken integration. Coordinate safe testing with your staff.
